Atypical things you need for your classy outfits this autumn

When thinking of classy looks, what are the first things that come to mind? For me that’s white button-up shirts, black suits, silk ties and handkerchiefs, Oxford shoes and all other types of garments and accessories that make you look like a professor at a prestigious elitist college. And although we can all agree that these things are indispensable from your autumn wardrobe, why not add a touch of diversity and uniqueness and look at a few atypical additions to your closet to consider wearing this fall.

Leather coat

Instead of the basic beige trench or the dark woolen overcoat, look out for leather coats this autumn. These garments look great on both men and women and if you want to avoid looking like Keanu Reeves in The Matrix, choose a long coat with an oversized design. However, if you’re looking towards obtaining that 90’s grunge fashion aesthetic, a well-fitted leather coat that you can tie with a belt is the sure way to go. It doesn’t necessarily have to be made of real leather, but it surely has to look like it for that polished, preppy look that we want to achieve. For a more extravagant look, search for one with metallic details, but avoid the coats with fur elements.

A qualitative bag

The classic black or brown leather bag is a must for every fall outfit, and while we’re not against it at all, we still think that it can look better and more interesting if you add an extra element of style such as the ones made of wool or tweed. Irish bags are a great example of a perfect symbiosis between leather and other fabrics. You can choose a seasonal woolen bag made in autumnal colors or go for something more versatile, such as a gray herringbone tweed bag that will be suitable for your outfits all year round. Either way, if you get an Irish bag, you’ll get a high-quality accessory that will be there for you for a long time. You can also create beautiful contrasts in your outfits, for example by wearing a monochrome beige outfit and making your colorful bag the focal point of your ensemble.

Silk button-up shirt

As mentioned above, the white button-up shirt is one of the very first things that come to mind when thinking of the classic fashion style.  During summertime, cotton is the preferred fabric for this type of garments because it makes the shirts lightweight and breathable. Despite being great, a cotton shirt doesn’t look or feel even half as luxurious as a silk one, so why not purchase at least one for your classy fall outfits. Not only it will make you look better, but it will also have plenty of benefits for your health: silk is moisturizing, hypoallergenic, it prevents your skin from forming premature wrinkles (yes, even on your body!), and it is overall strong and durable so that a silk button-up shirt will last you a long time.
