There is an enormous amount of fun you can have with the kids in a children’s playground. You’ll know straight away that when they see a playground they naturally want to go on it and use all the equipment to the absolute fullest. Rather than sit back and let them get on with it, why not join in with some fun games. When it’s one of the Playgrounds Cheltenham way you can definitely have a wild time together.
The first game to play is Daddy, or Mummy Monster. Basically it’s a form of tag, or tig depending where you’re from. You are the big bad monster trying to catch the children and convert them over to your side. As soon as you tag one of the kids they become a little monster with you. However, there is one rule: You are not allowed on the equipment but the children are. If the kids are on something, except the swings, they are safe.
The other great game is to play hide and come home. You are on it again but you stand next to a piece of equipment which is classed as “home”. You close your eyes and count to 20. The kids have to hide but, rather than wait for you to come get them, they must make their way back to “home”, which you are guarding, undetected.
These are great games to build up everyone’s fitness and stamina. They can also help you bond with your children in a fun and exciting way.
